Sem. 2 Blog #3 - Surreal Photography Unit
1. Look at the surreal photography work of Thomas Barbèy (link here) and answer the following 3 questions below.
In one word, I would you describe his work as clever
When I look at his photographs they makes me wonder where his inspiration comes from
If I had to guess as to why the photographer takes surreal photos, it would have been to show his imagination in a new creative way
2. Reflection on your Warm Ups 5 (part 1 and 2),6, and 7. Which of these warm ups you completed was the most successful and why? If you had to teach someone one of these warm ups, which one could you teach? Write 2-3 complete sentences and be specific and use your photography vocabulary. Include the photo of your warm up.
I think Warm Up #6: Double-Exposure Image in Photoshop using silhouette of person was my most successful image. Although the technique was hard to understand, the end I feel that my picture has an element of mystery, along with being a well produced image. I wouldn’t teach this to someone else because I barely understand it myself, but I would teach Warm Up #5 - Part II: -Merging People & Natural or Man-made because it was the simplest to complete.
3. Reflection on your final Surreal Photomontage Project.
The background images were taken over this past weekend at Camp Jones Gulch. The subject was taken in November.
To create this image I combined the background and subject to create a merged image.
I would title this piece “Branches Of The Mind.”
My classmate thought this photo was about a person trying to find herself in nature.
